Work-Life
Weight Watchers Program

Overview

Travelers is committed to helping employees pursue healthy lifestyles. Eating right and maintaining a healthy weight directly affects everyone's wellbeing. Introduced in 2009,  Travelers will continue to sponsor a company-wide program with Weight Watchers®, a trusted name in safe and sensible weight loss. Weight Watchers offers a multifaceted approach to learn how to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight for the long term. It incorporates healthful eating, physical activity, behavior modification and – for those who attend meetings – a supportive atmosphere.

This program offers a choice of three plans to help employees achieve their weight loss goals: Weight Watchers At Work, Weight Watchers local meetings and Weight Watchers online. As an added incentive for employees, Travelers is paying one third of the initial membership cost.** In addition, Travelers will reimburse employees the balance of their membership program fees once they achieve a 10 percent weight loss or their goal weight, whichever comes first.

Reimbursement

Employees who participate in Weight Watchers and achieve a 10 percent weight loss, or their goal weight as identified by Weight Watchers, and have attended the required number of Weight Watcher meetings, will be eligible for reimbursement of their Weight Watchers membership fees incurred after January 1, 2009. However, you will not be eligible for reimbursement if you have already received reimbursement for these fees from Travelers Health Care Spending Account.

Note: Reimbursement will be made in your Travelers paychecks after the reimbursement form is validated by Weight Watchers. Reimbursement may take up to 30 days after the form is submitted. The reimbursement will be taxable income to you. Weight Watchers fee reimbursement is limited to a maximum of 12 months.

To submit for reimbursement, complete the Weight Watchers Weight Loss Reimbursement Form*.

Non-Participating Areas

Weight Watchers in a small portion of the United States is owned and operated by independent Weight Watchers franchisees who maintain their own offers and pricing. Click here for a list of these locations.

If you reside in one of these locations, you can join a community or At Work meeting locally instead of joining via the Travelers dedicated toll-free number. Travelers is not allowed to provide one-third of the initial membership cost in these locations; however, you will be eligible to receive a refund of a sum that is equivalent to the portion that Travelers would normally provide in the participating markets. When you achieve a 10 percent weight loss, or your goal weight as identified by Weight Watchers, you will be eligible for reimbursement of your Weight Watchers membership fees. The fees will be equivalent to, but will not exceed, the portion that Travelers would normally provide in the participating markets. Access the Weight Watchers Non-Participating Location Refund Form* for complete instructions on how to submit for reimbursement. Only employees in these areas may utilize this form. The form must be sent in upon completion of your Weight Watchers plan.
