  The following checklist will give you the confidence that you are taking the right steps to prepare for retirement.

Listed below each step are the options available to you through Travelers. Since each person's needs and style are different, Travelers has provided a variety of tools to help you prepare for your future. The following labels may help you decide which option is right for you:

    1. Know Your Retirement Needs 
  myComp - Review your personalized replacement ratio. An optimal percentage is between 80-100%, according to most financial advisors.
  Financial Engines Personal Evaluation - Review your statement, which is sent to your home address annually. If you see a red or yellow light, you may need to make some changes.
  myPlan® Retirement Quick Check - Find out if you're on track to reach your retirement goals by completing Fidelity myPlan Retirement Quick Check. Find it at Fidelity NetBenefits>Tools & Learning> Preparing for Retirement.
  Retirement Income Planner - If you are approaching retirement, use Fidelity Retirement Income Planner to create an income plan to help ensure you don't outlive your assets. Find it at Fidelity NetBenefits>Tools & Learning> Preparing for Retirement.
    2. Create a Financial Plan 
  Fidelity Advisors - Consult with a Fidelity advisor in person or over the phone to develop a list of action steps to help you stay on track. Call 800.825.1792 to schedule a complimentary one-on-one consultation.
  Merrill Lynch - Travelers has partnered with Merrill Lynch, Inc. to offer Financial Education Solutions (FES), a full-service financial planning program. If interested, you may enroll during Annual Enrollment.
  Personal Financial Advisor - Consult your own financial advisor for assistance with developing a plan.
    3. Save in the Travelers 401(k) Plan 
  Save as much as you can in the 401(k) Plan - Visit Fidelity NetBenefits>Contribution Amount or call the 401(k) Service Center at 800.480.9980 to enroll or increase your contribution today! Don't forget that the company matches 100% of each dollar you contribute on the first 5% of pay, up to an annual maximum of $5,000.
  Automatic Increase Program - This helpful tool allows you to select what day and what percentage you want to automatically increase your contribution rate each year. Sign-up at NetBenefits>Contribution Amount.
  Consolidate your Accounts - If you have a 401(k) from a previous employer, you may want to consider rolling those funds into your Travelers 401(k) account. Request a Roll-In Kit on NetBenefits>Plan Information & Documents>Plan Literature or call the Fidelity 401(k) Service Center at 800.480.9980.
  Consider Roth 401(k) - Determine if the Roth 401(k) option is right for you. Roth 401(k) offers you the opportunity to invest additional after-tax dollars to your 401(k). Use the Roth vs. Pre-tax calculator to determine the impact of contributing to the pretax 401(k) or the after-tax Roth(k). Find it at NetBenefits>Tools & Learning> About 401(k)s>Roth 401k.
    4. Consider an Investment Strategy 
  Target Retirement Funds - Consider the plan's default fund, the Vanguard Target Retirement Funds. These funds are designed to make saving for retirement simpler by combining a blend of diversified investments that gradually and automatically shift from a more aggressive asset allocation to a more conservative asset allocation, as retirement gets closer.
  Managed Account - Consider signing up for Financial Engines Professional Management. This service will give you the peace of mind knowing professionals are monitoring your investments. To enroll visit www.financialengines.com/forTravelers or call 877.401.5762.
  Online Advice - Use Financial Engines Online Advice tool and get recommendations about what might be best for you. This tool recommends an investment strategy and is integrated with NetBenefits to allow you to implement the strategy with a few simple clicks.
  Financial Advisors - Consider getting help through Fidelity, Merrill Lynch, Financial Engines or your own Financial Advisor.
  Rebalance Tool - Use the Fidelity rebalance tool or sign up for the automatic rebalance tool to keep your asset allocation on track. Find it at NetBenefits>Change Investments.
  Do it yourself - Choose your own investment strategy from the plan's 25 investment options. Learn about the available investment options at NetBenefits>Investment Choices and Research and make your selections on NetBenefits>Change Investments.

  Benefit Plan Summaries - Access the comprehensive information about each plan through its Summary Plan Description (SPD).
  Fidelity NetBenefits® - Get more information about the Travelers 401(k) Savings Plan through Fidelity NetBenefits (www.401k.com). You can also call the Fidelity 401(k) Service Center at 800.480.9980.
  Pension Web site - Learn more about your benefit under the Travelers Pension Plan.
