Educational Assistance
Overview
Travelers has established the Educational Assistance Program to encourage and support employee development. Through the program, the company helps eligible employees pay the cost of eligible education classes and professional designation and certification programs.

The company will only reimburse you for classes that have received prior approval. To receive prior approval, you must submit a completed application to your immediate manager before registering for a class. If your application is approved by your immediate manager and the CFO of your business unit/staff department, upon successful completion of the class, the company will reimburse you for qualified educational expenses.
Eligibility
You are eligible to participate in the Educational Assistance Program if you are a regular status, salaried employee scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week and you have six months of continuous service with the company. At the time that you request pre-approval of your class, your base salary must be less than $150,000. Additionally, you must be meeting or exceeding the targets and expectations of your position with the company, as determined by your manager.
How to Enroll
Cost
You pay for the full cost of classes, professional designation programs and certification programs that you choose to take while employed by the company. If you are eligible to participate in the Educational Assistance program, you have received prior approval for the class/program that you are taking and you have successfully completed that class/program, you will be reimbursed based on the requirements provided in the Educational Assistance Benefits Plan Summary (PDF).
To apply for reimbursement, you must send a completed application form (below) approved for payment by your manager, and accompanying documents to the Employee Services Unit (ESU). If you have questions, contact the ESU at 4-ESU@travelers.com or 800.441.4378.
