Overview

Employees who are called upon or who volunteer for service in the United States uniformed services have certain rights to employment and re-employment under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). The policies of the company are meant to comply with USERRA in all respects. In certain cases company policy is more generous than required by USERRA.

Eligibility

The uniformed services that qualify are the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, Air National Guard, the commissioned corps of the Public Health Service, as well as the reserve components of each of these services, and any other category of persons designated by the President in time of war or emergency. Uniformed service includes active duty, active duty for training, inactive duty training, initial active duty training, or full-time National Guard duty, as well as the period for which a person is absent for the purpose of an examination to determine fitness to perform any such duty.
