Overview

Travelers has partnered with Merrill Lynch, Inc. to offer financial planning services designed to address your concerns about personal finances and the role that your benefits play in your overall financial well-being.

Additional Details

This program provides you with a place to turn for third party, objective financial advice. You can choose from one of two levels of coverage:

Level I: Planning Plus -includes preparation of a written, comprehensive financial plan so that you can better identify your needs, clarify your goals and establish strategies for investing for your future, whether it is planning for retirement, leaving a legacy to your family or accumulating wealth. This comprehensive financial plan encompasses college planning, trust and estate planning, insurance review, asset allocation and retirement analysis.

Level II: Options Plus - includes all the benefits offered in Level I, as well as a stock option analysis. If you own stock options, you may not be sure when or how you should exercise them, when or if you should sell or hold, and what the value of your stock options really are. This requires a more detailed analysis. Merrill Lynch's planners offer option strategies in concert with your overall financial plan.

Eligibility

You are eligible to participate if you are a regular status, salaried employee of Travelers scheduled to work at least 20 hours a week. If you enroll in Merrill Lynch's financial planning services, Merrill Lynch will counsel you and your dependents.

Cost

You pay the entire cost of this plan with post-tax payroll deductions.*

Coverage Monthly Cost
Level I $32.50
Level II $39.58

*Effective October 16, 2009, there will be no charge for this benefit for the remainder of 2009.

After you have enrolled, Merrill Lynch will send you a welcome letter along with a Financial Planning Agreement that you must sign and return in order to receive services. To preview the financial planning agreement or for additional information on the plan, call Merrill Lynch at 866.509.5527.

Once you enroll, you may not elect to discontinue coverage for any reason, including a qualified status change, until the next Annual Benefits Enrollment period.
